Cobra Stimulus Assisance
I am being denied the Cobra stimulus assistance that was supposed to pay 65% of my monthly Cobra benefit. The cost of my Cobra eats up almost 1/4 of my monthly unemployment benefit but I cannot go without insurance due to a chronic health condition that would prevent me from being able to work if I didn't take medication. My former employer states the reason I'm not eligible is "because of the reason I was fired" but they will not specify what, specifically, that reason is or where in the Cobra regulations it outlines those disqualifications. For the record...I was terminated after filing a 3200 report for suspected child abuse and neglect. In any other venue I would be protected from repercussions but since I worked for a tribal government (18 years) they can do what ever they want, literally, because they are a soveriegn nation. Strangely enough, they are receiving a good chunk of stimulus money for their own needs. Does anyone know of a resource I can access for answers to my questions? I am entering into my 6th month of unemployment. I've never not worked before. It's pretty strange. I feel like I'm losing skills by the day!

Can you provide where you live, what tribe that you belong to or worked for as a soveriegn nation, for more research.
